Key Responsibilities:

  • Engages with insured parties and claimants upon the initiation of claims.
  • Evaluates and investigates coverage concerns and potential defenses.
  • Collects necessary documentation from claimants.
  • Assesses claim documents for sufficiency.
  • Gathers facts surrounding claims through interviews, document reviews, and site visits.
  • Coordinates and analyzes received information, making independent determinations regarding claims within authorized limits.
  • Drafts and secures releases, processing claims within check authority, or formulates denials of claims.
  • Conducts legal research utilizing online resources for state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a business-related discipline or equivalent relevant experience.
  • A minimum of five years of experience in claims management.
  • Prior training as a paralegal is preferred.
  • Possession of Associate in Fidelity and Surety Bonding (AFSB) and/or Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) credentials is advantageous.
Skills and Competencies:
  • Thorough understanding of claims processes, investigative methodologies, and legal research practices.
  • Familiarity with surety and fidelity matters and relevant legislation is preferred.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Proficient in computer systems and software, including electronic legal research tools.
  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
  • Capacity to manage multiple tasks while adhering to deadlines with minimal oversight.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally; a valid driver's license with a satisfactory motor vehicle record is required for travel.
