Payroll Clerk Job Description

Located in Santa Monica, this contract opportunity requires a Payroll Clerk to assist with payroll processing reconciliations and audits, administer and maintain employee and manager access in the NOVAtime timekeeping system, and respond to employment verifications requests in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with payroll interface updates and research/resolution of issues/errors
  • Process payroll reconciliations and audits
  • Administer employee and manager access in NOVAtime timekeeping system
  • Respond to employment verifications requests
  • Maintain knowledge base and resource information for multi-state payroll processing
  • Process garnishments and benefit changes in payroll system
Requirements:
  • 1+ years of payroll experience
  • Prior experience with ADP Workforce Now and/or Timekeeping/HRIS systems
  • Working knowledge of wage and hour regulations, tax laws affecting payroll, and regulations on processing withholding and support orders
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work
  • Excellent organizational skills and follow-through
  • Positive attitude and ability to be proactive, resourceful, and flexible
