Position Overview

We are looking for a dedicated IT Support Specialist. The successful candidate will provide technical assistance and support to our employees, troubleshoot hardware and software issues, and ensure operational continuity. This role demands strong problem-solving abilities, a customer-focused mindset, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will possess a technical background, experience in customer support or IT administration, and a solid understanding of the daily operations within an IT organization, particularly in a rapidly growing startup with evolving demands.
  • Diagnosing and resolving IT-related issues while conducting thorough research to identify optimal technical solutions.
  • Managing a diverse range of SaaS applications; provisioning, modifying, and revoking access as necessary.
  • Overseeing equipment procurement, maintaining vendor relationships, and managing inventory for all IT hardware and software.
  • Collaborating with various business units on projects.
  • Administering SaaS accounts with a focus on security and cost management.
  • Communicating effectively and clearly across the organization.
  • Supporting a global workforce and collaborating with international IT teams, including employees and consultants.
  • Evaluating existing processes, proposing enhancements, and implementing business processes where needed.
  • Demonstrating a willingness to learn and embrace new challenges as the business evolves.
  • Exhibiting a proactive approach to responsibilities as the company grows.
Qualifications
  • Exceptional customer service orientation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
  • Familiarity with macOS, Windows, Linux, iOS, and Android platforms.
  • Experience managing G-Suite for daily operations.
  • Knowledge of SSO systems (Okta, OneLogin, etc.).
  • Proficient in managing AV hardware and software, including Zoom and other video conferencing tools.
  • Solid understanding of networking principles (switching, firewalls, subnetting, wireless technologies, VPNs, LAN/WAN, etc.).
  • Flexibility in work hours; readiness to adapt to the company's needs, including early mornings, late evenings, and occasional urgent communications outside regular hours.
  • Physical capability to lift 30 lbs over short to medium distances and navigate stairs as required.
Preferred Skills/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with our technology stack: Jira, Okta, Slack, Salesforce, Zoom, Kandji, Intune, VoIP systems, among others.
  • Understanding of API design and implementation.
  • Basic knowledge of programming languages such as Python.
  • Experience with HPE/Aruba and Palo Alto networking hardware.
  • Confidence in troubleshooting and identifying root causes.
  • A passion for documentation and process optimization.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and skill enhancement.
  • Prior experience in IT/helpdesk/customer service roles, especially in early-stage startups.

Compensation Information

At Verkada, we aim to attract and retain top talent by compensating employees fairly based on their contributions. We consider various factors, including work location, skills, experience, market conditions, and internal equity, to determine appropriate starting salaries. This estimate may vary based on these factors, and it is just one aspect of Verkada's comprehensive rewards package. Employees may also qualify for additional compensation forms, including sales incentives, discretionary bonuses, and/or equity in the company through Restricted Stock Units (RSUs).

Estimated Annual Salary Range:

$80,000-$105,000 USD
