Crisis Intervention Registered Nurse

Position Summary:
As a Registered Nurse specializing in crisis intervention, you will play a vital role in addressing the needs of individuals facing homelessness. Your expertise will be essential in providing compassionate care and support in various urban settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough medical and mental health evaluations for individuals experiencing homelessness.
- Promote access to shelters and essential support services throughout the city.
- Assess the immediate medical and psychological needs of homeless individuals to determine the necessity for hospitalization.
- Identify mental health risks and potential threats to self or others.
- Monitor for any signs of aggressive behavior that could endanger others.
- Collaborate with law enforcement to ensure safe transport of individuals in crisis to appropriate psychiatric facilities.
- Work in conjunction with outreach teams to develop comprehensive care plans and facilitate effective discharge processes.
- Exceptional verbal and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
- Completion of relevant training in mental and behavioral health is preferred.
- A valid Registered Nurse License in the state of New York is required.
