Role Summary:

The Crisis Worker plays a vital role in supporting families and collaborating with Therapists. This position involves delivering culturally sensitive crisis intervention, assessment, case management, and advocacy services to families enrolled in the MST-CAN Programs, adhering to established policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:

The primary responsibilities of the Crisis Worker include:

  • Conducting comprehensive home assessments, financial evaluations, and safety/risk assessments.
  • Providing direct case management and advocacy services to assist families in accessing support for needs such as public assistance, housing, and educational resources.
  • Participating in group supervision and managing crisis situations, including weekend coverage as necessary.
  • Facilitating compliance with child welfare mandates in cases where the role transitions from Therapist to Crisis Worker.
Essential Duties:

The Crisis Worker will be responsible for:

  • Understanding and promoting the organization's mission and values.
  • Assisting with practical case management tasks, including addressing utility issues and securing necessary resources.
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and updates in relevant systems.
  • Monitoring educational attendance and obtaining necessary school records.
  • Researching and identifying community-based services to support families.
  • Accompanying clients to essential appointments and making necessary referrals.
  • Engaging caregivers and key participants in treatment processes to foster positive outcomes.
  • Participating in training and consultation activities to enhance service delivery.
  • Building relationships with community stakeholders to promote cooperation among service providers.
  • Being available for crisis response as needed, including flexible hours and remote work.
Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in social work or a related field.
  • At least one year of relevant experience working with adolescents and families in child welfare or mental health settings.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English is preferred.
Key Competencies:
  • Ability to work effectively with families in various settings.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a focus on timely documentation.
  • Proficiency in computer applications and case management systems.
