Key Responsibilities- Certification Requirements: Must possess BLS certification and complete a Non Violent Crisis Intervention Course (8 hours), along with SEL and SCR certifications.
- Clinical Duties: As a Registered Professional Nurse, you will ensure safe and competent care is provided to a designated group of patients, utilizing nursing theories and research.
- Patient Care Delivery: Implement the principles of Relationship Centered Care, applying the nursing process based on evidence-based practices and organizational standards.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop, implement, and assess patient care plans.
- Patient Education: Educate patients and their families about care plans, health promotion, and disease prevention, while being attentive to their learning needs.
- Communication: Maintain effective and professional communication with patients, families, and all members of the care team.
- Resource Management: Manage assignments within the Modified Primary Nursing model, ensuring efficient use of material resources.
- Active NYS RN License
- Current BLS and Non Violent Crisis Intervention certifications
- Minimum of 2 years of recent psychiatric nursing experience
- At least 2 years of overall RN experience
- Travel experience preferred for travel positions
- EPIC experience is highly desirable
This position operates on a 5x8 schedule, with weekend and holiday shifts required.
Unit Specific Information- Unit capacity: 31 beds
- Role modeling the principles of Relationship Centered Care through various patient engagement strategies.
- Perform charge nurse duties as assigned.
- Coordinate with nursing leadership to ensure adequate supply utilization and inventory management.
- Document all patient interactions in compliance with regulatory standards.
- Facilitate patient throughput effectively during shifts.
