Position Overview

As a Sales Growth Strategist, you will receive comprehensive support to thrive at Summit. Your primary focus will be on cultivating new client relationships, pinpointing strategic accounts, nurturing existing customer connections, and spearheading local marketing initiatives. You will engage in solution-oriented selling by leveraging your insights into Summit's competitive strengths and employing outstanding analytical capabilities. The role emphasizes promoting unique service offerings that strengthen Summit's customer relationships and enhance market positioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gain a thorough understanding of Summit's service offerings available to clients.
  • Engage with customer accounts to promote Summit's products and services.
  • Travel regularly to client sites and various locations.
  • Provide prompt and precise quotations while addressing customer inquiries and requirements.
  • Collaborate with customer service representatives to proactively manage customer orders and address challenges.
  • Resolve customer issues efficiently, fostering loyalty towards Summit.
  • Work alongside various departments on marketing, advertising, customer presentations, and market analysis.
  • Adapt sales strategies to meet the evolving needs of Summit's clientele and stay ahead of competitive dynamics.
  • Identify and evaluate opportunities to showcase Summit's solutions and maximize revenue potential.
  • Utilize Summit's existing solutions to deepen relationships with current customers and explore new market segments.
  • Assess potential for new service offerings and sales tools.
  • Organize customer events and facility tours to highlight Summit's capabilities and values.
  • Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including industry associations, to enhance Summit's service offerings.
  • Negotiate favorable pricing with clients and suppliers.
  • Exercise discretion in determining customer pricing and maintaining service standards.
  • Assist in the collection of funds from accounts payable when necessary.
  • Collaborate with departments to empower Summit's sales team in effectively communicating the value of our solutions.
  • Ensure successful implementation of existing sales solutions, measured by positive ROI.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of sales and negotiation experience within the electrical supply industry.
  • 5+ years of experience in the commercial or industrial B2B sector.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (preferably SAP) and BI tools.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to navigate diverse audiences and resolve complex issues.
  • Knowledge of customer and supplier service offerings, pricing, and incentive programs.
  • Ability to cultivate a robust network of industry leaders and leverage these relationships for business success.
  • Willingness to travel approximately 50% of the time for fieldwork and industry events.
  • Excellent understanding of local market dynamics and business opportunities.
  • Strong analytical and strategic planning skills.
  • Customer service-oriented with effective time management capabilities.
  • Ability to address complex business challenges diplomatically.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Minimum education: high school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with electrical products.
  • Proven success in developing sales strategies and driving performance.
  • Established reputation for integrity and results within the industry.
  • Experience with ERP systems (preferably SAP) and BI tools.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Completion of EPEC Silver and/or Gold certifications.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field; MBA preferred.
  • Existing relationships with Summit's sales leadership and clientele.
  • Strong reputation for integrity and results within the industry.
