Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Volunteer Programs Specialist to join our team at Old Dominion University. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising student employees, coordinating volunteer efforts, and providing administrative support to our department.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise student employees and coordinate volunteer efforts for the Monarch Pantry and Monarch Clothing Closet
  • Provide administrative support, including record keeping and inventory management
  • Assist with purchasing supplies and budget monitoring
  • Coordinate logistics for office-sponsored events and service events
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage students and promote community service
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • Considerable office and customer service experience in higher education or a related field
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite and experience with departmental purchasing and acquisitions
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with assessment, including survey creation and management
  • Knowledge of effective customer service and problem resolution techniques
  • Valid driver's license and insurable driving record
