Job Overview

Position: Lead Research Scientist

Location: Everett, Washington

Our client, a premier contract research organization focusing on early-stage pharmaceutical development, is in search of a Lead Research Scientist. This role is pivotal in overseeing various projects, ensuring the scientific integrity and quality of studies conducted.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee assay development, qualification, validation, and production, serving as an expert in multiple assay types while mentoring junior staff.
  • Supervise associate scientists and/or junior scientists, providing guidance and support.
  • Independently manage the development, planning, execution, reporting, and troubleshooting of diverse assay types to meet scientific quality and regulatory standards.
  • Engage in method development, validation, and sample analysis projects as assigned based on expertise.
  • Act as the Bioanalytical Principal Investigator for validation and sample analysis, serving as the primary contact for project management and clients.
  • Ensure compliance with protocols, GCP, GLPs, SOPs, and best practices throughout all studies.
  • Manage project timelines and resource allocation effectively.
  • Provide quality control support on studies assigned to other team members, based on training and competencies.
  • Conduct data batch reviews and multi-batch trend analyses, ensuring accurate documentation of deviations and compliance reports.
  • Review and provide recommendations for bioanalytical components of preclinical and clinical protocols and related documents.
  • Mentor analysts in daily operations, supporting their work on sample analysis and validation studies.
  • Address and resolve issues within studies independently, developing appropriate procedures as necessary.
  • Communicate complex data sets clearly to stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
  • Write, review, and update method SOPs as required.
  • Participate in client meetings, conferences, and scientific outreach activities.
  • Adhere to all company guidelines and policies while conducting applicable work.
Qualifications:
  • A degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience in regulated clinical and/or preclinical studies, typically with a minimum of 3 years in a relevant role.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Scientist II or equivalent is required.
  • Familiarity with regulatory agency guidelines, SOPs, and GLP regulations is essential.
  • Strong organizational skills, flexibility, and attention to detail are crucial for success in this role.
