Position Overview

A reputable organization is in search of a qualified Staff Accountant to contribute to their financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate precise financial accounting reports promptly, execute month-end closing activities, and conduct account reconciliations for various entities.

• Assist corporate leadership in achieving financial objectives by analyzing accounts, evaluating financial statements, producing reports, and disseminating financial information as required.

• Potentially aid in loan compliance, refinancing, budget formulation, and construction financing.
  • Oversee financial accounting records from the general ledger to the preparation and validation of financial statements for designated entities.
  • Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by applying generally accepted accounting principles to all transactions.
  • Analyze budgets and prepare variance reports comparing budgeted to actual figures for assigned entities.
  • Conduct various account reconciliations and financial analyses as assigned.
  • Gather necessary tax documentation for the tax accountant.
  • Review monthly balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements for accuracy.
  • Facilitate the monthly closing process and the generation of statements to ensure timely reporting.
  • Prepare required statutory and other relevant reports as assigned.
  • Assist in the review and enhancement of monthly closing procedures.
  • Examine supporting subsidiary schedules to ensure adherence to the company's accounting practices, such as insurance, fixed assets, and amortization of prepaid expenses; provide recommendations.
  • Support external audit preparations as necessary.
  • Perform additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.
  • Execute all assigned work for the agreed-upon monthly compensation, refraining from accepting additional payments or gifts from residents, vendors, or management.
  • Serve as a role model for colleagues by demonstrating a responsible, cooperative, and positive demeanor.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding all business and operational information.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of experience in financial accounting with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.
  • Proficient understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet departmental deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with customer service capabilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Maintain a respectful and positive approach with colleagues.
  • Proficient in computer usage and relevant software applications.
  • Demonstrated initiative to seek out and complete additional responsibilities.
  • Ability to foster a positive work atmosphere while exhibiting a professional work ethic.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Represent the organization in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standards.
