Key Responsibilities
• Generate precise financial accounting reports promptly, conduct month-end closing activities, and perform account reconciliations for various entities.
• Assist management in achieving financial objectives by analyzing accounts, reviewing financial documents, providing reports, and disseminating financial data as required.
• Potentially aid in loan compliance, budget formulation, and construction financing.
- Manage financial accounting records from the general ledger to the preparation and verification of financial statements for designated entities.
- Ensure the integrity of the general ledger by applying generally accepted accounting principles to all transactions.
- Review budgets and prepare variance analysis reports comparing budgeted and actual figures for assigned entities.
- Conduct various account reconciliations and financial analyses as assigned.
- Gather necessary tax package information for the tax accountant.
- Examine monthly balance sheets and profit-and-loss statements for accuracy.
- Assist in coordinating monthly closings and the production of statements to ensure timely reporting.
- Prepare required statutory and other relevant reports as assigned.
- Support the review and updating of monthly closing procedures.
- Review supporting subsidiary schedules to ensure adherence to accounting practices, such as insurance, fixed assets, and amortization of prepaid expenses; make recommendations as necessary.
- Assist with external audit preparations as needed.
- Undertake additional responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
- Maintain confidentiality of all business and operational information.
- Exhibit a responsible, cooperative, and positive attitude as a role model for all employees.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting is preferred.
- A minimum of two years of experience in financial accounting with increasing levels of responsibility is preferred.
- Familiarity with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet departmental deadlines.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Maintain a respectful and positive approach with colleagues.
- Proficiency in computer applications and relevant software.
- Willingness to take on additional responsibilities as needed.
- Ability to foster a positive work environment while demonstrating a professional work ethic.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
