Position Overview:

The role of the Physician encompasses the provision of extensive medical services, which includes patient examinations, condition diagnoses, and treatment administration. This position involves leading nursing staff, aides, and other healthcare professionals in the management and care of patients. Additionally, the Physician may oversee clinical operations and engage in research initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough patient evaluations and document medical histories.
  • Order necessary laboratory tests, X-rays, and other diagnostic procedures.
  • Collaborate with other medical professionals to assess patients' physical and mental health.
  • Prescribe and administer treatments, therapies, medications, and vaccinations to address or prevent health issues.
  • Provide immediate medical assistance in emergencies.
  • Offer guidance to patients regarding health care, including preventive measures for diseases and accidents.
  • Coordinate efforts with nurses, social workers, rehabilitation therapists, pharmacists, psychologists, and other healthcare providers.
  • Supervise and direct the activities of nurses, students, assistants, specialists, therapists, and other medical personnel.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Preferred Qualifications:

A medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) is required, along with licensure or eligibility to practice medicine within the state of Georgia as mandated by state regulations. The Physician must also be Board Eligible.
