The Georgia Regional Hospital – Atlanta (GRHA) is seeking a dedicated Internal Medicine Physician to provide comprehensive medical services within our facility.

Location:

This role is situated at Georgia Regional Hospital, which spans 174 acres in DeKalb County and is equipped with 300 licensed inpatient beds across various program areas including Adult Mental Health, Forensic Services, and Developmental Disabilities.

Role Responsibilities:

As an Internal Medicine Physician, you will be responsible for:

  • Conducting thorough examinations of patients to diagnose medical conditions and recommend appropriate treatments.
  • Overseeing the care provided by nursing staff and other medical personnel.
  • Referring patients to specialists when necessary to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Providing guidance on health promotion and disease prevention strategies.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses, social workers, and rehabilitation therapists, to coordinate patient care.
  • Performing diagnostic procedures and interpreting results to assess patients' health.
  • Prescribing medications and treatments to manage or prevent health issues.
  • Delivering emergency medical care as required.

Qualifications:

Candidates must possess a medical degree recognized by the Georgia Composite Medical Board (GCMB) and be eligible for licensure to practice medicine in Georgia. Board eligibility is required for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:

Ideal candidates will have:

  • Certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine or Family Medicine.
  • Experience in managing patients with complex medical conditions and working as part of an interdisciplinary team.
  • Background in adult mental health, addictive diseases, and forensic psychiatry.
