At AmeriWound, our affiliated professionals are experts in wound care, responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating, monitoring, and healing patient wounds. We are recognized nationally for our efficiency in healing times. Our documentation is precise and tailored to meet all medical facility standards.

Our certified wound care educators offer training and support to our providers and client facilities, ensuring the implementation of the most effective wound care strategies. This leads to enhanced healing outcomes, improved facility survey results, and optimized reimbursement under PDPM.

Key Features:

  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, approximately 7 AM to 4 PM; no evening, weekend, or on-call duties.
  • Unlimited W-2 earning potential, directly linked to provider availability, documentation in EMR, patient encounters, and facilities managed.
  • Necessary instruments provided by AmeriWound, including debridement kits and hurricane spray.
  • A dedicated Wound Care/Treatment nurse will accompany you at each facility.
  • Company-issued laptop with EMR software (Aprima).
  • Malpractice insurance provided for both full-time and part-time providers.
  • Mileage reimbursement according to standard IRS guidelines.
  • Administrative support provided, allowing you to focus more on patient care.
  • 5 CME Credits available for Full-Time providers.
  • Health Benefits offered for Full-Time positions.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct weekly rounds at assigned facilities within your designated area.
  • Diagnose patient conditions through physical examinations and/or telemedicine consultations.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for extended periods, bend, kneel, and lift or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Perform necessary medical procedures, including debridement.
  • Collaborate and communicate findings and treatment plans with facility clinical teams.
  • Inform patients about their diagnoses and treatment objectives.
  • Document each patient interaction in EMR - APRIMA and maintain accurate medical records on the company-issued laptop.
  • Facilitate referrals to other healthcare professionals and medical facilities as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MD or DO degree.
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible.
  • Active and unrestricted medical license in the state.
  • DEA license required.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to establish and maintain rapport with facility staff and patients.
  • Proficient in using software, particularly EMR documentation, with a strong attention to detail.

About AmeriWound:

Our practice primarily focuses on skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), assisted living facilities (ALFs), long-term care, and rehabilitation hospitals, following a schedule coordinated by the respective Regional Manager (RM). Physicians adhere to a weekly patient visit schedule organized by the RM and Patient Care Coordinator (PCC).
