Job OverviewQuarterhill Inc. is seeking a highly skilled ITS Field Technician to join our team. As a key member of our Field Services team, you will be responsible for installing and repairing Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) for various clients throughout the US. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong technical skills, excellent customer service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.Key Responsibilities
  • Customer Service Excellence
    • Provide exceptional customer service to clients, including training and support for the use of IRD deployed systems.
    • Work collaboratively with internal teams to resolve technical, design, or functional issues.
    • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure their needs are met.
    • Accurately document service work performed, including on-site records and electronic reporting.
  • Technical Solutions
    • Assist in the installation and integration of new and replacement equipment as required.
    • Perform routine maintenance and emergency service work to installed equipment as outlined in service contracts.
    • Conduct site compliance verifications and corrections as needed.
  • Safety & Quality
    • Adhere to Corporate safety and quality policies.
    • Maintain company vehicles to ensure excellent working conditions and adhere to regular maintenance schedules.
    • Supervise in-road and roadside civil construction activities.
    • Ensure installations, repairs, and service are performed in accordance with IRD standards.
Requirements
  • Education & Experience
    • Degree, Diploma, or Certificate in electronics technology and/or equivalent work experience.
    • Mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate basic hand tools.
    • Valid passport and ability to travel throughout the region.
    • Valid Driver's License with a clean driving record.
    • Pass a DOT Medical exam bi-annually.
  • Computer Skills
    • General knowledge of software and hardware applications, with a focus on Linux/Unix and Microsoft Windows-based environments.
    • Ability to work with Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams, etc.).
    • Ability to troubleshoot and analyze hardware and system operation problems using tools of the trade.
  • Other Attributes
    • Excellent work record of self-motivation, judgment, productivity, and safety.
    • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a demanding environment.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong customer service skills.
    • Self-motivated with good organization and time management skills.
    • Ability to lift 65 lbs.
    • Work outdoors, in all weather conditions, for extended periods.
