Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Field Service Technician to join our team at ASTEC. As a Field Service Technician, you will be responsible for conducting a variety of duties encompassing service maintenance, installation, commencement of new machinery, and repair work on heavy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Travel to customer sites in service truck or company vehicle to maintain and repair ASTEC equipment as scheduled or directed.
  • Perform emergency and scheduled repairs to ASTEC equipment as requested by customers, Service Manager, or designated personnel.
  • Provide thorough machine documentation and field reports to identify service issues and prevent future warranty claims.
  • Coordinate with customers and Service Manager to schedule field jobs effectively.
  • Train onsite customers on repair, installation, or testing procedures for scheduled machines.
  • Follow up with customers, vendors, and personnel to ensure resolution of service issues, while promoting a safe work environment and adhering to company policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; prior work experience advantageous, or a blend of education and experience satisfactory to management.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in heavy equipment mechanics or related field.
  • Must have previous Electrical Experience.
  • Proficiency in diesel mechanics with preference for electrical and hydraulic repair expertise.
  • Demonstrated skills in component assembly, bearing installation, and air system hookup.
  • Knowledgeable in hydraulic component installation, welding, and cutting.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and conversions to practical situations.
  • Maintain positive relationships with customers, vendors, and colleagues, both independently and as part of a team.
  • Possess manual dexterity to meet service schedule demands efficiently.
  • High proficiency in written communication for technical reports and documentation.
