Position Summary:

The Energy Efficiency Auditor will play a crucial role in ICAST's initiatives across Texas and the Western United States, delivering energy savings solutions to our multifamily clients through the recommendation of high-efficiency HVAC systems, lighting, hot-water solutions, and building envelope improvements. The primary responsibilities include conducting energy audits and performing quality control inspections.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Energy Auditing, with a focus on multifamily projects.
  • At least 3 years of experience in Quality Control Inspections, specifically in multifamily settings.
  • Certification as a BPI Multifamily Building Analyst.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BPI Multifamily Energy Auditor Certification.
  • Certification in Weatherization Program Quality Control Inspection.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems in multifamily buildings.
  • Knowledge of Healthy Homes assessments.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and attention to detail skills.

Location: El Paso, TX & Western Region

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel is expected, approximately 75% of the time.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the QA/QC Manager.

Skill Level: Intermediate

Educational Requirements: Certifications from the Building Performance Institute: Energy Auditor, Quality Control Inspector, Multifamily Building Analyst, along with WAP certifications as an auditor and QCI.

Areas of Expertise: Building Energy Auditing, Quality Control Inspections, Weatherization Assistance Program.

Compensation: $65K, dependent on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct on-site Building Energy Audits as required.
  • Evaluate the energy performance of buildings to identify cost-effective energy efficiency upgrades, particularly for HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and installers to ensure solutions align with customer needs and relevant incentive programs.
  • Manage and execute QA/QC Inspections for Energy Efficiency projects as necessary.
  • Provide guidance to construction staff regarding building inspection requirements and exceptional circumstances.
  • Review multifamily building inspections conducted by construction staff to ensure compliance with program, customer, and ICAST standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date reporting for assigned projects.

Initial Objectives:

  • Achieve any necessary certifications within 8 months of joining ICAST.
