Position Overview
The primary purpose of this role is to oversee, direct, and implement operational objectives to ensure the subsidiary meets its goals for system efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and safety. Short-term objectives focus on timely production, reliability, efficiency, and quality, while long-term goals involve strategic planning and implementation in alignment with customer and company objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage operational functions in line with business growth and the introduction of new systems.
- Ensure financial objectives are met while maintaining safety standards and quality output.
- Assess and enhance the skills of supervisory and operational staff to meet market demands.
- Conduct research and implement strategies to reduce operational costs and achieve financial targets.
- Coordinate efforts between support departments to ensure smooth workflows and cost-efficient operations.
- Participate actively in leadership roles and the implementation of new technologies and processes.
- Enhance productivity through effective communication and maintain a positive rapport with all employees.
- Ensure compliance with established safety procedures and provide training and direction to personnel.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering with a focus on power systems. A Master's degree in engineering or an MBA is preferred, particularly for candidates with experience in evaluating energy assets.
Experience: A minimum of 10 years in boiler plant design and operations, with knowledge of steam and chilled water production, thermodynamics, and safety protocols. At least 3 years of experience in a supervisory role within a utility or industrial environment.
Skills: General knowledge of heavy equipment operation and maintenance. Ability to work rotating shifts as required. Must be capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 pounds and working in confined spaces.
