Position Summary:

The Energy Efficiency Auditor & Inspector will play a crucial role in advancing ICAST's initiatives across Texas and the Western United States. This position focuses on delivering energy savings to our multifamily clients by recommending high-efficiency HVAC systems, lighting solutions, and building envelope enhancements. Key responsibilities include conducting energy audits and performing quality control inspections.

Essential Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in energy auditing, particularly in multifamily settings.
  • At least 3 years of experience in quality control inspections, with a focus on multifamily projects.
  • Certification as a BPI Multifamily Building Analyst.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • BPI Multifamily Energy Auditor Certification.
  • Certification in Weatherization Program Quality Control Inspection.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC systems in multifamily buildings.
  • Knowledge of Healthy Homes assessments.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and attention to detail skills.

Location: Remote opportunities available.

Travel Requirements: Frequent travel expected, approximately 75% of the time.

Reporting Structure: Reports to the QA/QC Manager.

Skill Level: Intermediate.

Educational Background: Relevant certifications from the Building Performance Institute, including Energy Auditor, Quality Control Inspector, and Multifamily Building Analyst, along with Weatherization Assistance Program certifications.

Areas of Expertise: Energy Auditing, Quality Control Inspections, Weatherization Assistance Program.

Compensation: Competitive salary based on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct field-based energy audits as needed.
  • Evaluate building energy performance to identify cost-effective energy efficiency upgrades, particularly for HVAC systems.
  • Collaborate with equipment vendors and installers to ensure solutions align with customer needs and incentive programs.
  • Manage and execute quality assurance and quality control inspections for energy efficiency projects.
  • Provide guidance to construction teams regarding inspection requirements and exceptional circumstances.
  • Review inspections conducted by construction staff to ensure compliance with program and organizational standards.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date reporting for assigned projects.

Initial Objectives:

  • Achieve necessary certifications within the first 8 months of employment.
