About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Principal Remediation Lead to join our team at Talisman. As a key member of our Investigation & Remediation practice group, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships and ensuring project completion on time, within budget, and to the client's satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
  • Client Relationship Management: Leverage existing connections and build relationships with clients, vendors, and partners to foster a mutually beneficial business practice.
  • Project Management: Collaborate closely with other team members, understand client needs, and develop tailored solutions to meet project objectives.
  • Technical Expertise: Develop and execute project scopes, prepare environmental reports, and provide professional opinions and practical solutions.
  • Project Performance: Track project performance, profitability, and schedule while ensuring the right resources are in place to complete the project.
  • Team Leadership: Lead the project team, keep them focused, and drive projects to completion, even when challenges arise.
  • Mentorship and Training: Provide mentorship, training, and professional development opportunities to junior staff.
  • Technical Work: Perform technical work and support project deliverables on various Investigation & Remediation projects, including:
    • Phase I & II Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs)
    • Voluntary Cleanup Program (VCP) and Industrial & Hazardous Waste Corrective Action Projects under state-specific regulations
    • Knowledge and application of environmental regulatory frameworks
    • Leaking Petroleum Storage Tank (LPST) assessments
    • Non-Aqueous Phase Liquids (NAPL) management
    • Spill Response & Reporting
    • Ecological Risk Assessments
    • Groundwater Modelling and Remediation
    • Risk-Based Corrective Action (RBCA)
    • Regulatory assessment and closure of associated releases
Requirements
  • Education: BS degree or higher in Environmental Engineering, Geology, Science, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10-15 years of direct environmental consulting experience.
  • Skills: High-level experience and knowledge of environmental investigation and remediation for industrial, energy, and commercial clients.
  • Leadership: Proven leadership abilities with experience mentoring junior staff.
  • Business Development: Strong desire to help build and grow a client base through diverse business development initiatives.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
  • Professional Certification: Professional certification (PE, PG, or equivalent) preferred.
