Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Vice President of Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance to lead our Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance (CRM) Group and CRM functions. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in regulatory and legislative policy/advocacy, commercial real estate finance market knowledge, and leadership skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the MBA CMF team effectively and strategically to advance member business and policy objectives.
  • Develop and implement a Commercial Real Estate/Multifamily Finance strategic vision to increase MBA's presence within the CRM segment of the industry.
  • Work with the MBA President & CEO and MBA's member leadership to advance CRM member interests and effectively manage MBA's CRM-related functions.
  • Engage members and stakeholders to understand the specific and common drivers impacting the CRM membership and industry.
  • Collaborate with major CRM coalition partners at other trade associations.
  • Allocate resources and expertise to deliver robust member offerings.
  • Manage and coach the team, promoting professionalism and commitment to ethical conduct.
  • Promote a cohesive team environment by building strong relationships and encouraging open communication.
  • Act as a leader for the entire association, demonstrating a strategic mindset and championing organizational values and culture.
  • Lead the development of MBA's policy positions impacting CRM members.
  • Drive policy success and progress on key policy positions.
  • Lead advocacy on regulatory issues and serve as subject-matter expert for CRM matters.
  • Develop and manage relationships with key regulators.
  • Partner with MBA's Legislative & Political Affairs department on legislative advocacy.
  • Develop thought leadership documents that advance MBA's CRM policy and industry agenda.
  • Inform membership on material policy developments through regular communications.
  • Collaborate with other MBA departments to promote MBA's positions.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholder groups for coalition-based initiatives.
  • Strengthen member engagement to enhance value for CRM members.
  • Advise and work with COMBOG on meeting agenda-setting.
  • Oversee and provide guidance to CRM member councils and committees.
  • Engage in strategic outreach to member sectors.
  • Develop strong content for CRM events and communications.
  • Increase visibility with membership and external stakeholders.
  • Lead the development of best practices and compliance resources.
Requirements
  • A minimum of fifteen years of relevant experience is required.
  • Experience in regulatory and legislative policy/advocacy is required.
  • Knowledge of commercial real estate finance market is required.
  • A graduate degree in business, finance, public policy, or juris doctorate is a plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and effective people management experience.
