Job Title: Housing Manager

NAHB is seeking a skilled Housing Manager to oversee the logistics of staff travel for key events, including the Spring and Fall Leadership Meetings and the International Builders' Show (IBS). This role will involve managing hotel contracts, vendor relationships, and staff travel arrangements, as well as serving as the primary point of contact for local hotels.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the NAHB staff travel process for IBS and leadership meetings, working closely with the Housing Director and VP, Convention Operations to solicit and compile staff travel requests.
  • Process, track, and archive hotel contracts for IBS and leadership meetings, as directed by the Housing Director.
  • Partner with hotels and internal stakeholders to finalize contracts after negotiations.
  • Assign and track NAHB staff housing assignments with the Housing Director.
  • Serve as backup contact with NAHB's housing management company.
  • Assist the Housing Director with housing assignments and management of exhibitor/group room blocks.
  • Track and utilize contracted concessions, commissions, and rebates.
  • Manage hotel reservations for meeting attendees, speakers, and staff.
  • Work with hotels to create housing information forms and dedicated online reservation sites.
  • Assist members with housing needs throughout the housing and registration process.
  • Work closely with local hotels to obtain contracts and negotiate long-term rates annually for members and vendors.
Requirements:
  • Three to five years of experience in association event management, with a strong understanding of hotel contracts, terminology, and industry sales or reservation management.
  • College degree or equivalent in education and work experience.
  • Basic meeting planning knowledge is required, with experience in meeting specifications and contract negotiations a plus.
  • Exceptional customer service attitude, time management, and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication skills (written and verbal).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Work Environment:
  • Hybrid work environment: three days in office, two days remote.
  • Some travel required for this position.
Salary Range:

The salary range for this position is $75,000-$80,000 annualized, based on skills and experience.
