Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Water Resources Engineer to join our team at JT Engineering, Inc. in Wisconsin. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading projects, designing and developing stormwater management systems, and collaborating with project teams to integrate water resource solutions into transportation and site development projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop stormwater management systems, including detention/retention ponds, infiltration systems, and conveyance channels, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Hydrologic and Hydraulic Modeling: Perform hydrologic and hydraulic modeling to assess water flow, flood risks, and drainage capacity using HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Project Management: Lead and manage water resource projects, including scheduling, budgeting, and team coordination.
  • Client Communication: Serve as the primary client contact, providing technical expertise, ensuring project goals, and supporting proposal preparation.
  • Site Inspections and Construction Oversight: Conduct site inspections and oversee construction to ensure design specifications are met.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on industry trends and technologies, applying innovative solutions, and mentor junior engineers and technical staff in water resource engineering.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, focusing on Water Resources or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in water resources engineering, emphasizing stormwater management.
  • Professional Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) license, or the ability to obtain within 12 months.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling (e.g., HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, SWMM), experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D and GIS software, and strong knowledge of local, state, and federal water regulations.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines, and experience in watershed planning, floodplain management, green infrastructure, LID practices, and SWPPP (preferred).
