Role ResponsibilitiesThe Post-Training Research Scientist will spearhead our research initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency, performance, and reliability of our models. This role involves cross-functional collaboration to devise innovative techniques for fine-tuning, adapting, and updating models to maximize business value for our clients and improve our offerings.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Leading or contributing significantly to research initiatives that enhance the practical capabilities of our models.
- Working closely with product teams to bridge the gap between research and product development, identifying capability deficiencies and assessing progress.
- Driving research efforts focused on post-training models for enterprise applications; designing and executing experiments to boost the post-training functionalities of our models.
- Creating new algorithms and methodologies for efficient model fine-tuning and adaptation.
- Developing synthetic datasets and evaluation metrics tailored for enterprise scenarios.
- Analyzing outcomes and deriving insights to inform future research endeavors.
- Keeping updated with the latest advancements in post-training methodologies (such as RLHF, RLAIF, DPO, etc.) and integrating relevant findings into research and product development.
- Experience in research with a focus on post-training and optimization of large language models using frameworks like Megatron, DeepSpeed, MaxText, etc.
- Strong foundational knowledge in machine learning and a principled approach to research.
- Proven track record of developing new methods or enhancing existing techniques in machine learning or related domains.
- Proficiency in programming languages commonly utilized in machine learning research, particularly Python.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.
- A passion for building innovative solutions in a dynamic, collaborative environment.
- (Bonus) Previous experience in enhancing products and user experiences through machine learning models.
