Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a Senior System Administrator to oversee the operational integrity of our systems within both Windows and Linux environments, with a strong emphasis on Linux. This role is critical in providing technical and application support for our Real-Time Crime Center, ensuring that our systems are optimized and functioning seamlessly. The successful candidate will engage in system configuration, troubleshooting, and enhancements, addressing technical challenges to maintain continuous operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the uninterrupted operation of the Real-Time Control Center (RTCC) by ensuring 24/7 system support and maintenance.
  • Conduct preventive system care, including tasks related to TCP/IP, Transport, Network, and Link Models, such as backups, upgrades, and virus scans.
  • Perform corrective maintenance by promptly resolving system issues and facilitating the real-time replacement of defective components.
  • Document maintenance activities meticulously and provide expert guidance during system upgrades and modifications to ensure minimal disruption.
  • Advise on software and hardware improvements to enhance system performance and security.
  • Deliver training and knowledge transfer sessions for implementation teams and clients, equipping them to identify and resolve common issues.
  • Establish and execute backup strategies to guarantee the high availability of critical systems and data.

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience with both Windows and Linux operating systems, particularly Linux.
  • Proficient in designing, implementing, and managing containerized environments utilizing Docker and Docker-Compose.
  • Skilled in SSH, shell scripting, and service management.
  • Strong understanding of networking technologies with the ability to troubleshoot network-related issues.
  • Hands-on problem-solving approach with effective analytical skills.
  • A minimum of 5 years of demonstrated experience in system administration, supporting IT infrastructure and operations.
  • An associate's degree in information technology (IT) or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • Specialization in areas such as Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Exchange, Microsoft SQL Server, and Network Management/Administration.
  • Relevant certifications, such as Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) or Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), reflecting your expertise and commitment to professional growth.

In this role, you will collaborate with a skilled team, utilizing your expertise to ensure our systems and infrastructure consistently meet high standards of performance and reliability. Compensation: $70,000-$77,000 per year plus bonuses.
