Service Operations Manager

Your role and responsibilities

In this position, you will oversee a team of service engineers and technicians, ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of service offerings, solutions, and projects to clients. Each day, you will play a crucial role in executing service strategies and fostering growth by concentrating on cost-effective service delivery and compliance with guidelines. You will also demonstrate your expertise by driving service achievements through resource planning, allocation, and the effective implementation of standard procedures and safety protocols. The work model for this role is: Remote. This position contributes to the Process Automation Energy Industries in the Northern region. Your main responsibilities will include:
  • Ensuring customer focus, urgency, and care in your area of responsibility, while building sustainable customer relationships for growth, satisfaction, and retention.
  • Driving the development of processes and practices based on customer feedback (Net Promoter Score) to continuously enhance customer experience.
  • Allocating, directing, and monitoring work based on order content, delivery timelines, competencies, and workload.
  • Managing a team of service professionals, guiding their development, and ensuring effective organization and direction within your area of responsibility.

Qualifications for the role
  • 15+ years of experience in a Field Service function, Field Service Management, or Project Management roles, with familiarity with 800xA, Harmony/S+, or legacy ABB control systems.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of all ABB Field Service tools and methodologies.
  • Proficient in SAP, SalesForce, and Power BI applications.
  • Basic industry knowledge in Power Generation & Transmission, Pulp & Paper, Metals & Mining, Oil & Gas, Utilities & Water, and renewable energy.
  • A 4-year degree in Process Automation, Computer Science, or Engineering is preferred, or comparable military technical training with a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, or a special combination of education and experience with demonstrated accomplishments.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (English).
  • Must possess a current visa or be authorized to work in the United States.
