ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Junior Accounting Specialist will oversee daily accounting functions related to business operations. This position will also engage in fundamental accounting and financial reporting tasks, including general ledger entries, balance sheet reconciliations, reporting, and accounts payable review and coding. The Junior Accounting Specialist will assist in the month-end closing process and the preparation of supporting documentation for annual audits to meet both internal and external deadlines.

KEY FUNCTIONS
  • Financial Record Management
    • Support the daily operations of accounting and finance in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
    • Maintain and update financial records and transactions using accounting software.
    • Accurately record accounts payable and receivable transactions.
    • Perform data entry for general ledger transactions.
    • Track and monitor inventory across various locations.
  • Reconciliation and Audit Support
    • Assist in month-end closing and preparation of various balance sheet reconciliations.
    • Conduct bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies.
    • Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation.
    • Review and verify the accuracy of expense reports and reimbursements.
    • Perform periodic data analysis to report on recent and historical financial performance.
  • Compliance and Documentation Management
    • Ensure adherence to company policies, generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), and relevant regulations.
    • Maintain organized and detailed financial records for audits and reference.
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Assist in planning and implementing various business processes to enhance operations in a high-growth environment.
    • Effectively communicate with team members, management, and external stakeholders regarding financial matters.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES
  • Technical Proficiency: Skilled in Microsoft Excel and familiar with GL/Accounting software such as Sage/Intacct.
  • Data Analysis: Proven ability to utilize technology for data collection and manipulation, identifying significant findings, and presenting reports.

MINIMUM EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's Degree with a focus on Accounting or Finance.
  • Entry-level position suitable for recent graduates or individuals with 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience.
  • CPA or in the process of obtaining CPA.
