This role is crucial for employing advanced accounting methods and intricate practices to classify and document financial transactions, ensuring a thorough and precise financial closing process. The focus will be on accounting for capital investments, particularly in IT capital expenditures and operational expenses.
Key Responsibilities
⦁ Prepare intricate journal entries and financial statements (such as balance sheets, income statements, and monthly closing reports) in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or other relevant regulations.
⦁ Conduct thorough analysis and review of financial data to guarantee the accuracy and completeness of accounts, including general ledger accounts, income statements, and balance sheets, to facilitate detailed account reconciliations and identify any unusual trends or discrepancies.
⦁ Develop, maintain, and oversee the implementation of accounting procedures and controls.
⦁ Foster relationships with IT business partners, maintaining regular communication to accurately monitor and account for IT capital and operational expenditures.
⦁ Provide guidance, mentorship, and constructive feedback to junior staff members.
⦁ Investigate and address inquiries from the Company's internal and external audit teams.
⦁ Assist in the preparation and evaluation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Required Qualifications
Experience: 3 - 5 years of experience in industry accounting, public accounting, or internal auditing. Experience in a retail setting and familiarity with SAP is advantageous. Knowledge of Alteryx, Power BI, TM1, or Tableau is beneficial but not mandatory.
Education: A Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field is preferred. Any suitable combination of education and experience will be taken into account.
Professional Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or CPA candidate status is preferred.
Preferred Skills and Abilities
In-depth knowledge of SEC regulations, GAAP, and recent accounting standards. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly with advanced Excel skills. Ability to manipulate data effectively to facilitate project analysis and completion.Working Conditions
