Position Overview

The Finance team is in search of a proactive corporate finance expert to assist in guiding strategic choices for both Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) and hardware business models.

Your role will involve the creation, development, and ownership of innovative reporting, modeling, and analytical frameworks that facilitate informed decisions to bolster our growth.

This position demands analytical precision, collaboration with various stakeholders, and a robust sense of curiosity and accountability to deliver actionable business insights that influence our long-term strategy and execution.

Top performers will cultivate partnerships across departments and with executive leadership, identifying opportunities for further exposure within Stem's finance organization and pathways for career progression.

Experience in a SaaS-oriented business model is highly preferred. Familiarity with the renewable energy sector is advantageous but not mandatory.

Key Responsibilities
  • Act as a strategic finance partner to senior management by collaborating cross-functionally to pinpoint and evaluate key trends and drivers.
  • Assist in corporate and departmental planning, forecasting, and management reporting that inform financial and operational decisions.
  • Lead organizational process enhancements, including the adoption of best practices in forecasting, reporting, and closing with a focus on scalability and automation.
  • Collaborate with Accounting to ensure accuracy in closing and alignment on key outcomes.
  • Engage in various ad hoc projects, including but not limited to: Treasury, Investor Relations, Corporate Development, and Corporate Strategy.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in FP&A, business finance, investment banking, management consulting, or related areas.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience in constructing complex financial models.
  • Solid understanding of financial reporting essentials (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow statement, monthly key metric reporting) and basic knowledge of US GAAP accounting principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, intellectual curiosity, and capacity to work independently.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience supporting a SaaS-based business model is strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with NetSuite, Salesforce, Vena, or similar systems is highly preferred but not essential.
  • BA/BS degree required.
