Opportunity Overview

Oxford Nanopore Technologies is seeking a highly skilled and experienced leader to join our team as Senior Regional Field Applications Director.

About the Role

This exciting opportunity will provide leadership, guidance, and direction for the regional Field Applications Team, ensuring high-quality support, training, and consultancy are provided to Oxford Nanopore Customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and implement onboarding and support strategies for different segments of ONT's customer base, increasing device utilization in the field.
  • Closely monitor Major/Strategic accounts together with the FAS and Sales teams in the region, ensuring minimal downtime on boxes in the field and effective feedback to internal teams for timely product and workflow improvements.
  • Ensure high-level customer satisfaction by reviewing customer feedback and monitoring team and individual key performance indicators.
  • Effectively communicate customer feedback to relevant internal teams (Technical Services, PM, Applications, Customer Service, Sales, Commercial Operations, Logistics) for quick improvement of in-field product and service performance.
  • Monitor training workload and distribute trainings based on expertise and availability of the local team.
  • Recruit and onboard personnel (Field Applications Scientists) in line with company and departmental goals and timelines, ensuring optimal team performance and effectiveness.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you should have:

  • A PhD degree in life sciences or an applicable area, or extensive experience within the field.
  • Previous experience managing a large region and leading a team with diverse expertise and roles, along with commercial experience in a support or customer-facing role.
  • Laboratory experience with proven knowledge and understanding of genetics, molecular biology, cell biology, and related fields.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and listening skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively communicate and project over the telephone.
  • A strong dedication to customer service and satisfaction.
  • The ability to manage many priorities at one time.
  • Technical competence to understand and clearly discuss fundamental theory and principles of experimental design, techniques, and results.
  • Ability to work effectively both interdepartmentally and internationally.
  • A general working knowledge of bioinformatics and sequence analysis tools, including genome assembly and annotation, structural variant detection, and phylogenetic analysis.
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary range of $121,582 - $182,374 USD, depending on your skills and experience. This role also comes with eligibility for annual bonus and stock awards based on individual performance.
