C.H. Thompson Finishing is in search of a Production Inspector who will be integral in upholding our standards of quality, safety, and efficiency. This position emphasizes a hands-on approach, particularly in the areas of unmasking and touch-up painting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Unmasking: Diligently remove protective materials from components post-painting.
  • Inspection: Examine unmasked areas for any flaws or irregularities.
  • Touch-Up Painting: Apply corrective paint to minor imperfections, ensuring color consistency.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct thorough inspections to verify compliance with quality standards and document findings.
  • Sorting Parts: Organize and categorize components according to specified guidelines.
  • Documentation: Keep precise records of inspections and any necessary rework.
  • Packaging: Securely package items for shipment, adhering to company standards.
  • Administrative Support: Assist with inventory updates and maintain an orderly workspace.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors to address inspection-related issues.
  • Safety Compliance: Uphold a clean and safe working environment, following all safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • Education: High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Experience: Background in metal finishing or manufacturing is advantageous, along with familiarity in quality control processes.
  • Skills:
    • Attention to Detail: Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness.
    • Communication: Ability to clearly convey findings and collaborate effectively.
    • Problem-Solving: Capacity to identify issues and propose solutions.
    • Technical Skills: Basic math and computer proficiency, along with the ability to operate specialized tools.
    • Physical Requirements: Capability to stand for extended periods and interpret technical documents.
    • Quality Standards: Commitment to ensuring all products meet high-quality benchmarks.

Work Schedule:

  • Summer Hours: Monday - Thursday 6:30am - 3:30pm, Friday 6:30am - 12:30pm
  • Regular Hours: Monday - Friday 7:00am - 3:30pm

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Wage: Starting at $17.50 per hour, with a performance review after 90 days.
