Job Summary:

The Volunteer Program Coordinator is a key member of the Cook Children's Health Care System team, responsible for coordinating the integration of volunteers into the healthcare team. This role involves implementing processes for volunteer recruitment, screening, interviewing, training/orientation, placement, recognition, retention, discipline, evaluation, and termination.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement effective volunteer recruitment strategies to meet the needs of the healthcare team.
  • Screen and interview potential volunteers to ensure they meet the necessary qualifications and requirements.
  • Provide comprehensive training and orientation to new volunteers, ensuring they understand their roles and responsibilities.
  • Place volunteers in positions that align with their skills and interests, while meeting the needs of the healthcare team.
  • Recognize and reward volunteers for their contributions and dedication.
  • Develop and implement strategies to retain volunteers and maintain a high level of engagement.
  • Evaluate volunteer performance and provide feedback to improve their skills and contributions.
  • Terminate volunteer relationships as necessary, while maintaining a positive and respectful attitude.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Minimum three years' experience as a Volunteer Coordinator.
  • Experience with Volgistics, Volunteer Works, or similar database preferred.
  • CVA or CAVS certification preferred.
