Position Summary:
This role is pivotal as the Fire Financial Specialist and Supervisor for the FMAG (Fire Management Assistance Grant) within the Forestry Division. The incumbent will oversee financial operations related to FEMA FMAG packages, conduct audits of fire-related expenditures, and serve as a key advisor on financial matters pertaining to fire management. The position will also involve supporting bureau and field offices with fire suppression financial activities and providing technical assistance to enhance operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
1. **Financial Oversight:**
- Manage the preparation and coordination of FMAG packages, offering expert consultation on financial aspects of FEMA and Disaster and Emergency Service mitigation plans.
- Conduct performance evaluations for the FMAG Fire Financial Specialist on a bi-annual basis.

2. **Audit and Compliance:**
- Review and verify fiscal transactions, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations and accuracy of accounting data.
- Conduct final audits on payment packages, ensuring all documentation is complete and accurate.

3. **Data Management:**
- Co-manage the development of internal accounting systems to track fire program expenses and activities, facilitating comprehensive reporting.
- Oversee the fire payables process to ensure timely reimbursement for suppression expenses incurred by interagency partners.

4. **Contracting and Procurement:**
- Direct statewide fire contracting activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and providing necessary resources for fire programs.
- Collaborate with federal interagency contracting officers to coordinate annual preproposal meetings for fire equipment and crew solicitations.
