The primary role of the Clinical Exercise Specialist in the Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation program is to design, implement, and oversee exercise protocols tailored for outpatient care. This position plays a crucial part in the advancement and refinement of comprehensive rehabilitation programs that align with established standards from recognized organizations.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing guidance and monitoring during exercise therapy sessions.
- Creating and consulting on personalized exercise prescriptions.
- Delivering education on exercise and risk factor modification in both group settings and one-on-one consultations.
The Clinical Exercise Specialist acts as a vital resource for the multidisciplinary team, offering expertise in exercise methodologies, prescription strategies, and risk management.

Position Details:
- Part-time role, 0.8 FTE, with a commitment of 32 hours per week during daytime hours.
Qualifications Required:
- Bachelor's Degree in Exercise Physiology, Exercise Science, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Current National Provider BLS certification from the American Heart Association.
- A minimum of one year of relevant experience in clinical exercise physiology.
- Proficiency in EKG monitoring and rhythm interpretation for at least one year.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's Degree in a relevant field.
- Two years of experience in clinical exercise physiology and/or cardiopulmonary rehabilitation.
