Lead Investigative Reporter for Federal Affairs

Position Summary:
NBC News Digital is on the lookout for a seasoned reporter with extensive connections to cover critical stories related to the FBI and the Department of Justice. The selected candidate will be adept at balancing daily news coverage with exclusive reporting, focusing on significant investigations and the operational dynamics of these key agencies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver exclusive news on investigations conducted by the FBI and DOJ.
- Report on major cases, legal disputes, and personnel changes within these agencies.
- Identify and develop major storylines of national significance, producing in-depth reports and breaking news.
- Engage with network stakeholders to provide updates on pivotal investigations.
- Create well-researched, narrative-driven enterprise articles that capture the essence of complex stories.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in law enforcement reporting.
- A robust network of reliable sources within various departments of the FBI and DOJ.
- Comprehensive understanding of federal law enforcement protocols and practices.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
- Exceptional writing skills, characterized by clarity and engagement.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across various reporting beats.
- Comfortable with on-air appearances to discuss reporting expertise.
Additional Information:
