The Federal Background Investigator will assist in the AOC personnel security initiative by executing federal background assessments and compiling investigation reports in accordance with Federal Investigative Standards, applicable laws, and agency protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct federal background assessments and compile investigation reports in alignment with Federal Investigative Standards, laws, and other federal agency protocols.
  • Perform in-person and/or telephonic interviews with subjects to gather insights regarding their background and character, adhering to agency guidelines.
  • Collect information from diverse personal and record sources to generate a comprehensive report of investigation that encapsulates all relevant facts regarding an individual's background and character.
  • Travel may be necessary to conduct interviews or acquire records.
  • Ensure all background assessments and reports are completed within designated timelines.
  • Safeguard sensitive information, including but not limited to, Privacy Act Protected Information, Personally Identifiable Information (PII), and Classified National Security Information.
  • Willingness to travel within the assigned area as needed, typically within a 30-50 mile radius.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to travel within the assigned area as required, typically within a 30-50 mile radius.

Experience Requirements:

  • Must possess a current Top Secret personnel security clearance and maintain it throughout the contract duration.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of investigative experience is required, with seven (7) years preferred.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma is required.
