Role Summary:

The Strategic Sourcing Manager plays a crucial role in supporting various manufacturing sites, the corporate headquarters, and cross-functional teams, including marketing, finance, and IT. This position is designed for individuals who aspire to grow within the organization and tackle sourcing challenges in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supplier Relations: Establish and nurture relationships with essential suppliers. Assess and select suppliers based on criteria such as quality, cost-effectiveness, and reliability. Regularly review supplier performance.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate favorable contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure optimal terms. Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to evaluate and qualify vendors.
  • Procurement Planning: Formulate and execute procurement strategies to guarantee a steady supply of essential materials while minimizing expenses and managing risks.
  • Inventory Oversight: Manage inventory levels to maintain optimal stock without excess or shortages. Work with production and logistics teams to anticipate demand and adjust purchasing strategies accordingly.
  • Budget Management: Supervise and manage purchasing budgets. Identify and implement cost-reduction strategies without compromising quality.
  • Quality Control: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to ensure all procured materials meet established standards and specifications. Address any quality concerns with suppliers promptly.
  • Process Optimization: Continuously assess and enhance purchasing processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness.
  • Market Analysis: Evaluate market trends, demand patterns, and supplier performance data to guide purchasing decisions. Prepare regular reports on procurement activities and performance metrics.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and mentor a team of procurement professionals. Provide training, support, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of ten years of experience in procurement, sourcing, or buying, with a background in the dairy or food industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Experience in establishing and refining processes within Microsoft D365 or similar ERP systems.
  • A keen interest in purchasing and financial systems management.
  • A proven history of collaborating with teams and providing organizational leadership.
  • Strong negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
  • Logical problem-solving abilities and analytical thinking.
