The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) is actively seeking several Lead Specialists for Parking Operations to enhance the Department of Parking and Transportation Services.
The Office of Parking and Transportation Services is dedicated to delivering an exceptional parking and transportation experience for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.
This critical role involves rotating shifts and requires physical activity in various weather conditions.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Oversee daily operations of assigned shifts and parking facilities to ensure maximum efficiency and adherence to relevant policies and procedures.
• Supervise a team of Parking Ambassadors, develop weekly schedules, and facilitate the hiring and training of new staff.
• Conduct preventative maintenance on all parking equipment across various garages.
• Address general parking inquiries, requests, and complaints, escalating complex issues to management while providing feedback on operational needs.
• Regularly inspect facilities to confirm that all systems are operational and accessible for patrons.
• Act as the on-site supervisor during special events, ensuring adequate staffing to assist customers and manage garage traffic flow.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues and maintain the Parking and Revenue Control System (PARCS) equipment.
• Assist customers with on-site challenges such as battery jumps, lockouts, and security concerns.
• Provide coverage for Parking Ambassadors as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor’s degree.
Experience: At least one year of experience in managing corporate, commercial, or university parking and transportation programs.
Supervisory Experience: Minimum of one year in a role involving work coordination, training, or direct supervision.
Other: Relevant experience may substitute for educational requirements. Four years of experience in parking and transportation programs or facility management may replace the bachelor’s degree requirement.
This position is designated under the Clery Act as a campus security authority (CSA) and must comply with Clery Act obligations.
