Position Overview

Align is seeking an entrepreneurial AV Professional to join our AV Consulting practice within a well-established and growing IT Services Firm. This individual will collaborate with a team of AV Designers and Installers within our Workplace Technology division. The ideal candidate will possess a strong desire to enhance an already successful AV business. Preferred candidates will have experience in similar roles within AV Integration, AV Consulting, or Corporate AV settings.

  • This is a full-time role offering a competitive base salary, comprehensive benefits, paid training, paid time off, and performance-based bonuses.
  • This position will be based out of our office; however, the individual will be required to work at client locations in the metropolitan area. Some travel outside the local area may be necessary.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for our AV Design Consulting Practice, driving project and revenue growth objectives.
  • Act as a lead AV Designer to create audio-visual/multimedia designs, including audio, video, and control systems, in support of a diverse range of project opportunities.
  • Consult with enterprise IT clients, perform pre-sales engineering, and lead the technical AV design and proposal process, including proposal development, pricing, and material estimates.
  • Provide project support and engagement at all levels, including client administration, relationship building, and technical delivery as needed.
  • Offer expert guidance on both large-scale enterprise and SMB audio-visual transformations, assisting clients in developing optimal future AV plans.
  • Oversee audio-visual (AV) design, encompassing all phases from budgeting and conceptual design to construction documentation.
  • Prepare audio-visual/multimedia designs that support a wide array of project opportunities.
  • Act as a technical resource for colleagues, providing thought leadership and subject matter expertise.
  • Research and evaluate emerging technologies to enhance the firm's service offerings.
  • Collaborate within a team environment to ensure adherence to quality standards and integration of all technology systems into the overall AV design.
  • Exhibit a sales-oriented mindset and entrepreneurial spirit to help expand our AV Consulting practice.
  • Leverage your professional network to grow the business, engage partners, enhance our solutions, and support sales efforts.

Core Qualifications

In summary, we seek a sales-oriented individual with AV design experience, advanced AV/multimedia system skills, and a commitment to developing a team of AV consultants and installers.

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in designing and implementing corporate audio-visual (AV) systems.
  • Prior experience in an AV Integration or Consulting firm, or leading Corporate AV teams, is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with architectural drawings related to technology, audio, video, data, and control system design.
  • Candidates must possess a sales-oriented mindset and entrepreneurial spirit, with a desire to drive new sales initiatives and effectively manage accounts.
  • Strong communication skills are essential, with the ability to interact with executive-level clients and demonstrate consultative skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification as a CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) is preferred.
  • Any Infocomm/Avixa certification would be beneficial.
  • Experience with Polycom, Cisco, or Crestron technologies is a plus.
  • Broad knowledge in areas such as project management, workplace architecture, audio-visual system design, and digital signage.
  • Strong background in enterprise video services, including video conferencing technologies and virtual meeting room designs.
  • Basic understanding of IP networking related to UC and Video technologies.
