Role Overview:

The Culinary Preparation Specialist is tasked with the essential duties of preparing ingredients, sauces, and simple dishes to support our kitchen operations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare a variety of hot and cold dishes.
  • Compile a prep sheet detailing all items to be prepared or ordered.
  • Adhere to the prep sheet and maintain communication with chefs.
  • Ensure timely completion of prep tasks.
  • Properly label, date, and store food items.
  • Set up, operate, and maintain kitchen equipment.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of equipment handling and upkeep.
  • Utilize resources efficiently to minimize costs.
  • Follow recipes and execute orders accurately.
  • Assist chefs during service.
  • Maintain open communication with management and team members.
  • Comply with health and safety regulations.
  • Complete assigned tasks and follow checkout procedures.
  • Maintain cleanliness by managing spills and waste.
  • Report any issues to management promptly.
  • Document equipment malfunctions and safety concerns.
  • Assist with additional duties as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • High School Diploma preferred.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • Possession of all required state work permits.
  • Minimum of one year of relevant experience.
  • Proficient knife skills.
  • Knowledge of food storage practices.
  • Understanding of lifting techniques.
  • Familiarity with guest relations, sanitation, and safety protocols.
  • Experience in full-service kitchen operations.
  • Effective communication skills in English.

Working Environment:

  • Work in both indoor and outdoor settings, subject to varying conditions.
  • Exposure to noise and crowds, depending on guest volume.
  • Fast-paced, high-volume restaurant atmosphere.
  • Shifts may include days, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Capable of using hands for handling objects and tools, with repetitive motions.
  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly; able to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, and crawl.
