Job Title: Field Service Engineer II

About the Role:

As a Field Service Engineer II, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and upgrading our customers' Applied Materials equipment. You will work closely with senior engineers to ensure seamless execution of tasks, follow established procedures to diagnose and resolve technical issues, and complete required job documentation and safety training.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain leading-edge customer equipment
  • Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance
  • Upgrade equipment to ensure optimal performance
  • Diagnose and resolve technical problems using electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Complete required job documentation and safety training
  • Represent Applied Materials professionally to customers, using a customer-first mindset

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or completion of military technical training and field experience or technical certification equivalent to Associate's Degree
  • 2-4 years of work experience in the semiconductor industry or another equipment support industry
  • Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics
  • Clear and effective written/verbal communications skills, with an emphasis on documenting details
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
  • Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge in pneumatics, hydraulics, electronics, vacuum, or thermodynamics
  • Knowledge of hand tools and proper usage, including a digital multimeter
  • Valid driver's license and ability to obtain a passport

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to support rotational shifts (e.g., nights and weekends, including holidays when applicable)
  • Travel for training and alternate customer sites, based on business needs (may include international travel)
  • Ability to walk extensively, stand for extended periods, work in tight spaces, bend, squat, twist, kneel, and reach
  • Ability to distinguish between colors and work in an environment with noise that may be difficult for some individuals with sensitivity to noise
