Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Technical Field Engineer to enhance our Mid-Atlantic Operations Team, specializing in the delivery of IDS Passenger Information Display Systems (PIDS) products and services to clients in the airport and mass transit sectors. The primary role of the IDS Technical Field Engineer includes providing Systems Integration and both On-Site and Remote Technical Support Services for IDS clients across the Mid-Atlantic Region and nationwide.

Key Responsibilities
  • System Setup: Assemble, test, and configure servers, workstations, PCs, networking devices, and audio/visual equipment. Implement new systems at job sites and conduct field/site testing in accordance with IDS Quality Assurance/Control standards to ensure proper functionality and compliance.
  • Preventative Maintenance: Actively monitor the operation of system software, servers, PCs, networking, and audio-visual equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimize the need for corrective maintenance.
  • Corrective Maintenance: Address, troubleshoot, and resolve Service Work Orders utilizing remote access tools and providing on-site assistance as necessary.
  • Supervision: Oversee and coordinate the activities of subcontractors, suppliers, and on-site labor as directed by management. Develop a comprehensive understanding of Construction Documents, Specifications, General Contracts, Subcontracts, and Purchase Orders.
  • Project Support: Assist the Project Manager/Field Service Manager in maintaining project timelines and schedules.
  • Quality Control: Ensure adherence to internal and external Quality Control Procedures and enforce compliance among subcontractors with Construction Documents and Specifications.
  • Communication: Keep the Project Manager/Field Service Manager informed of any changes in site conditions that may affect the Scope of Work or necessitate Change Orders.
  • Verification: Confirm that subcontractors fulfill their contractual obligations and that layouts are accurate.
  • Logistics Coordination: Assist in scheduling and coordinating material deliveries, ensuring quality and quantity compliance with project plans and specifications.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all work is conducted safely, adhering to all Safety Protocols. All IDS Field Service Engineers must obtain OSHA-10 Certification and comply with client safety program requirements, including drug testing and background checks.
  • Work Environment: Foster a clean and collaborative work environment, ensuring proper disposal of construction debris and organization of materials.
  • Inspection Coordination: Collaborate with inspection agencies as needed.
  • Permitting: Ensure all necessary permits and licenses are secured, and that construction signage and fencing are appropriately installed and maintained.
  • Reporting: Create punch-lists and communicate findings to the Program Manager and subcontractors. Provide timely work reports and expense documentation using IDS-provided tools.
  • On-Site Management: Supervise subcontractor activities, which may include day and night shifts as required.
  • Technical Support: Provide on-site technical integration support for IDS hardware and software.
  • Maintenance Responsibilities: Conduct both preventative and corrective maintenance for hardware and software, ensuring prompt and professional responses to all service requests.
