Quality Assurance Specialist | HRU Inc Technical Resources

Contract Duration: 6 months with potential for extension or direct hire

Work Schedule: Flexibility to support all shifts

Compensation: $40-41/hour with optional benefits during the contract period

Onboarding Requirements: Background verification & drug testing

Position Overview:

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that the organization’s products and processes adhere to defined quality benchmarks. This role involves identifying deficiencies, formulating corrective strategies, and executing quality management systems. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills to guarantee that processes and products consistently meet or surpass established quality criteria.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct root cause analysis of quality concerns to evaluate performance using statistical, analytical, and advanced problem-solving methodologies.
  • Propose and implement sustainable corrective measures.
  • Examine quality data from both internal and external sources to ensure consistency.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Suppliers to address issues beyond plant control.
  • Oversee engineering modifications, partnering with cross-functional teams for timely execution.
  • Perform product evaluation requests to validate the robustness of product or process modifications prior to full-scale implementation.
  • Recommend and verify rework procedures.
  • Develop inspection protocols and best practices.
Qualifications:
  • Must be available to work any shift.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related Technical Engineering field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on experience in Automotive Engineering, Engineering Quality, or Manufacturing Quality.
  • Prior experience utilizing problem-solving tools and statistical methods.
  • Proficient in MS Office and G-Suite applications.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking abilities.
  • Experienced in applying problem-solving methodologies.
  • Demonstrated capability to mentor and instruct others.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Adept at conveying information from executive levels to plant staff.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Willingness to work off-shift hours as needed.
  • Self-driven and proactive.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced degree.
  • Experience with Body in White (BIW) commodity.
  • Familiarity with the design, testing, and assembly of production lines.
  • Experience in a unionized work environment.
  • Knowledge of LEAN manufacturing principles or World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and problem-solving techniques.
  • Relevant work experience.
