The Field Service Technician will lead and support a team to achieve designated goals. In this capacity, you will operate within established guidelines to make informed decisions, apply relevant concepts to moderately complex issues, and address challenges through immediate interventions or short-term strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Primary Duties
- Conduct on-site propeller servicing, including repairs, modifications, and preventive maintenance. This encompasses both on-wing and off-wing tasks.
- Offer comprehensive technical guidance and support to the on-site team regarding the operation, upkeep, repair, logistical assistance, and installation of GE products.
- Deliver timely and complete updates to project and field service management concerning program statuses, failures, trends, and environmental conditions.
- Provide hands-on assistance through on-site training and guidance in the proper operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of assigned programs and ground support equipment, ensuring accurate interpretation of data and technical documentation.
- Facilitate communication with Product Support and Field Service teams about all program activities and challenges through regular, timely reporting. This includes gathering, analyzing, and sharing significant market insights and sales prospects for both assigned programs and support.
- Assist in scheduling maintenance and managing workload, ensuring that equipment and parts adhere to established timelines.
- Evaluate reported issues and identify any concerning trends. Provide recommendations based on findings and assess the effectiveness of maintenance actions to determine training requirements.
- Proactively anticipate needs that extend beyond immediate program impacts and assist in implementing necessary actions to address those needs.
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution (or a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 4 years of experience in Aviation within a Field Service or Maintenance role).
- Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
- Several years of professional experience in extensive repairs, modifications, and maintenance work.
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership capabilities.
- Demonstrated analytical skills and a commitment to quality improvement.
- Ability to engage effectively at all organizational levels, both internally and externally.
