Job Summary:

The Mailroom Clerk is responsible for managing the daily operations of the mailroom, including sorting and delivering mail, processing outgoing packages, and assisting staff with mailroom tasks. This role also involves providing support to a full-time employee with a back injury and covering duties during their absences.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform mail runs, shipping, and receiving of packages, including scanning.
  • Sort and deliver incoming mail by department and/or employee to ensure timely distribution.
  • Sort and deliver interdepartmental mail, including notices and memoranda.
  • Pick up departmental mail as needed.
  • Operate mail machines, including postage meters, photocopying machines, and mail folding and inserting machines.
  • Process and weigh outgoing mail.
  • Maintain accurate records of receipt, mailing dates, and other required information.
  • Replenish postage on the postage meter as needed.
  • Stock supplies needed for the mailroom.
Required Qualifications:
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous experience in a mailroom or similar environment is a plus.
Additional Information:
  • Must be flexible to assist and cover for the FTE with a back injury during doctor appointments and other absences.
