Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef Assistant to join our team at Crew Life at Sea. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth preparation and service of all food items aboard our ships, maintaining the highest standards of quality, consistency, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership and Management
    • Lead and motivate a team of kitchen staff to achieve exceptional results
    • Develop and implement effective training programs to enhance staff skills and knowledge
    • Monitor and maintain a clean and safe working environment
  • Food Preparation and Service
    • Oversee the preparation and presentation of all food items, ensuring consistency and quality
    • Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to develop and implement new menu ideas and concepts
    • Ensure that all food is prepared and served in accordance with company standards and regulations
  • Inventory and Cost Control
    • Manage inventory levels and control costs to achieve budget targets
    • Monitor and analyze food costs, identifying areas for improvement and implementing cost-saving measures
  • Quality Assurance and Safety
    • Conduct regular quality control checks to ensure that all food meets company standards
    • Implement and maintain effective food safety and hygiene practices
Requirements
  • Education and Experience
    • Associate or bachelor's degree in culinary arts or hotel administration
    • Minimum 3-5 years of progressive supervisory and managerial experience in professional kitchens
  • Skills and Knowledge
    • Strong leadership and management skills
    • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food preparation and presentation
    • Ability to maintain oversight over assigned galley at planning, execution, and delivery stages of the operations cycle
    • Good comprehension of high-volume kitchen operations, of formal, informal, and buffet formats
