Position Overview

The Superintendent is tasked with overseeing, managing, and coordinating the operations of commercial and industrial construction projects to ensure timely completion, adherence to budget constraints, and compliance with design specifications.

This pivotal role involves collaborating with various trades and subcontractors, ensuring accountability for productivity and contractual obligations of the project. The Superintendent fosters continuous communication with the design team, Project Manager, clients, and subcontractors to guarantee that all work aligns with project drawings, specifications, and timelines. Responsibilities may include providing estimating support, identifying design inefficiencies, and resolving plan-related issues before they lead to additional costs. The Superintendent is also responsible for recognizing safety hazards and implementing necessary corrective measures.

The standard working hours are Monday - Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the expectation of additional hours, including weekends, to meet project demands and address site emergencies. Most projects are situated within a 100-mile radius of our office.

Position Requirements

Knowledge, Experience & Competencies:

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field, along with a minimum of 10 years of experience in a commercial construction setting, including at least 5 years as a Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent
  • Proven experience leading commercial construction projects valued at $5M or more
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and decision-making/problem-solving abilities
  • Strong understanding of mechanical and electrical systems
  • Capability to read, interpret, and implement construction documents
  • Proficiency in calculating accurate quantities of concrete, stone, and lumber for projects
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a proactive client focus and the ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Strong supervisory skills with the capacity to directly oversee employees and subcontractors
  • Advanced computer skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, P6 Scheduling, Bluebeam, and Procore
  • Must possess a valid, state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record
