Position Overview:

The Superintendent plays a pivotal role in overseeing the planning, execution, and management of commercial and industrial construction projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, on schedule, and in alignment with design specifications.

This position is essential within our project teams, facilitating collaboration among various trades and subcontractors while ensuring accountability for project productivity and adherence to contractual obligations. The Superintendent fosters ongoing communication with the design team, Project Manager, clients, and subcontractors to guarantee compliance with project drawings, specifications, and timelines. This role may also involve providing estimating support, identifying design flaws, and resolving issues proactively to prevent budget overruns. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, with the Superintendent responsible for recognizing safety risks and implementing corrective measures.

Working Hours: The standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with the expectation of additional hours, including weekends, to accommodate project demands and emergencies. Most project sites are within a 100-mile radius of our operational headquarters.

Qualifications:

Knowledge, Experience & Skills:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline, accompanied by a minimum of 10 years of experience in commercial construction, including at least 5 years in a role such as Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent.
  • Proven experience managing commercial construction projects valued at $5 million or more.
  • Outstanding organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Comprehensive understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Proficient in interpreting and implementing construction documents.
  • Ability to accurately calculate material quantities for projects.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a client-focused approach and a commitment to confidentiality.
  • Effective supervisory skills, capable of directly overseeing staff and subcontractors.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, P6 Scheduling, Bluebeam, and Procore.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license with a clean driving record is required.
