Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and organized Ministry Assistant to provide administrative support to the Director of Baptist Chaplaincy Relations. This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate records, preparing correspondence, and performing general clerical duties.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and produce accurate Chaplaincy Relations Department records
  • Assist Director with the development and administration of the annual budget
  • Process Chaplaincy Relations finances, including expense reports and payment of invoices
  • Provide administrative support for Chaplain Training Events
  • Perform general clerical duties, including processing correspondence and maintaining vertical storage
  • Work effectively to establish relationships with vendors, staff, and constituents
  • Attend meetings and participate in training as required
  • Answer phones and emails promptly and respond to requests for information in a timely manner
Requirements
  • Active membership in a church supportive of the BGCT during employment
  • Commitment to Christian principles and teachings both professionally and personally
  • Knowledge of churches, denominational structure, and church programs
  • Knowledge of chaplaincy relations and Texas Baptists
  • Understanding of cultural diversity and ability to communicate cross-culturally
  • Proficient ability to speak, read, and write English
  • Self-motivation and ability to work under little supervision effectively
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Proficient ability to plan, administer, and report budgets
Working Conditions

This role will require occasional travel to various geographic locations and some overnight stays.
