Position Overview

  • This is a full-time remote position for a Mortgage Compliance Specialist at First Home Mortgage. In this role, you will be essential in investigating new state licenses and regulations, as well as establishing processes to ensure adherence to compliance across various states. The ideal candidate will be proactive, possess a solid background in mortgage compliance, and demonstrate outstanding organizational capabilities. For candidates residing in the Baltimore area, a monthly visit to the corporate office will be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough research and analysis of state-specific mortgage laws and regulations to guarantee compliance.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures for newly licensed states to meet regulatory standards.
  • Review and validate disclosures for completeness and accuracy in each state, collaborating closely with the Encompass team to ensure all necessary data is correctly entered and managed within the software.
  • Work alongside team members to broaden compliance initiatives into new states.
  • Stay informed about industry developments and regulatory changes.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in mortgage compliance, including expertise in researching and implementing policies in newly licensed states.
  • Proficiency in using Encompass software.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Demonstrated capability to collaborate effectively within a team environment.
  • Experience in expanding compliance efforts across multiple states and familiarity with state-specific mortgage regulations.
  • Experience in training others on new processes and procedures is advantageous.
